Calling Features

Call Forwarding

Allows you to forward your calls to any other number (after pressing 72#, dial your “forward-to” number).

Press 72# to turn on.
Press 73# to turn off.

You can automatically transfer your incoming calls to another number so your calls can follow you wherever you go. Or you can have your calls sent to someone else (such as when you go on vacation).

To forward calls to another telephone:

  1. Dial 72#. You will hear a tone.
  2. Dial the telephone where calls are to be forwarded. Call Forwarding is in effect when the called telephone is answered. Tell the person answering that your calls are being forwarded to their number.
    If the called telephone is busy or does not answer, hang up and immediately repeat step one and then redial the telephone number where calls are to be forwarded. When you hear a tone, hang up. The service is automatically in effect.
    To restore your telephone to normal service, dial 73#. A tone indicates Call Forwarding has been canceled.

Selective Call Forwarding

Allows you to forward your most important calls to another number. Dial *63 and follow voice prompts.

Press *63

Blocks unwanted calls from disturbing you.

How to use:

  1. Pick up the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *60.
  3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored on your rejection list.
  4. Follow the voice instructions and dial 3 to turn the feature ON (if it is currently off), or turn the feature OFF (if it is currently on).

To add the last caller to your rejection list:

1. Press #01 #.

To hear the phone numbers on your list:

  1. Dial 1.
  2. After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.

To add a number to your list:

  1. Press #.
  2. Follow the voice instructions you’ll hear. You can store up to 6 phone numbers on your rejection list.

To remove a number from your list:

  1. Press *.
  2. Follow the voice instructions to remove any or all of those numbers from your rejection list.

To hear instructions again:

  1. Dial 0.

Anonymous Call Rejection

Works with Caller ID to prevent calls from callers who block delivery of their name, number or both.

Press *77 to turn on.
Press *87 to turn off.

You can refuse calls from callers who have “blocked” their numbers. Your telephone will not ring if the person calling you has blocked their number through per-call blocking or per-line blocking.

To activate Anonymous Call Rejection

  1. Lift the receiver; wait for the dial tone.
  2. Press *77.
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone and hang up.

When someone calls:

  1. Callers who have blocked the display of their number will hear an announcement that you do not accept anonymous calls, and they should remove “blocking” and call again.
  2. All other calls will ring through as usual.

To deactivate Anonymous Call Rejection:

  1. Press *87.
  2. Listen for the confirmation tone and hang up.

Per-Call Blocking

Blocks delivery of your number to the phone number you are calling.

Press *67

If you want to “block” or prevent your number from being sent to Caller ID subscribers:

  1. Press *67, before making your call.
  2. You will hear a “stutter” tone which tells you “per-call” blocking is working and you can begin dialing your number.
  3. This service is available to all customers, whether or not a Caller ID subscriber, free of charge.

Per-Line Blocking

Turn off this privacy feature on a per-call basis to allow delivery of your phone number.

Press *82

If you want to “block” or prevent your number from being sent to Caller ID subscribers and not have to press *67 each time you make a call, your number can automatically be blocked with this feature.

To deactivate Per-Line Blocking:

  1. Lift the receiver; wait for the dial tone.
  2. Press *82.
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone and hang up.

Call Tracing

Traces the number of the call you received.

Press *57

Lets you track harassing callers through the phone company.

How to use:

  1. When you get a nuisance call, just depress the “switchhook” and release quickly. Listen for special dial tone.
  2. If you’ve already hung up, just pick up the handset again and listen for a normal dial tone.
  3. Press *57.
  4. Listen for a confirmation announcement that the last call has been traced.
  5. Hang up.
  6. The number you traced will be recorded at the phone company. If you decide to follow up on the matter, we’ll provide that number to the local authorities.

Call Waiting “Click It”

Places your existing call on hold and answers a waiting call.

This feature gives you the ability to answer a second call.

If someone tries to call while you are using the telephone:

  • A short tone will indicate another call is waiting on your line. A reminder tone will follow 10 seconds later if you do not respond to the first signal.
  • If you want to end the first call, hang up. Your telephone will ring.
  • If you want to continue the first call, depress the switchhook for no more than one second to place the call on “hold” and to answer the second call.
  • Return to the first call by depressing the switchhook again, leaving the second call on “hold.”
  • Alternate between the two calls as often as necessary by depressing the switch hook for no more than one second to make each change.
  • To end either call depress the switch hook or hang up and the telephone will ring you back.

To deactivate Call Waiting:

1. Dial *70. You will hear a tone.
2. Do not hang up; dial the number you wish to call.

Call Return

Determines the last number that called you and dials the number when you press 1.

Press *69

Redials your last caller even if you couldn’t answer in time.

How to use:

  1. Pick up the handset and listen for a normal dial tone. If you were already on the phone and ignored a Call Waiting tone, depress the “switchhook” and release quickly.
  2. Press *69. Your call will go through like a normal call.

If the line is busy:

  1. Hang up. Your phone will keep trying the line for up to 30 minutes.

Priority Ringing

Gives up to six numbers a distinctive ring so you recognize “special calls.” Dial *61 and follow voice prompts.

Press *61

Announces important callers with a special ring.

How to use:

1. Pick up the handset and listen for the dial tone.
2. Press *61.
3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored on your list.
4. Follow the voice instructions and dial 3 to turn the
feature ON (if it is currently off), or turn the feature
OFF (if it is currently on).

To add the last caller to your list:

1. Press #01 #.

To hear the phone numbers on your list:

To add a number to your list:

When someone calls:

1. If the call is from someone on your list, you’ll hear a special ring. All other calls will have a normal ringing pattern.
2. If you have Call Waiting and get a call from a number on your list while you’re on another call, you’ll hear a special Call Waiting tone. All other calls are signaled by a normal tone.

Repeat Dialing

Automatically redials a busy number for up to 30 minutes.

Press *66

Speed Calling 8

Allows you to establish a list of 8 frequently called numbers that may be dialed with one digit (2-9).

By dialing or touching in a one-digit code, you can command your phone to dial frequently called numbers automatically. Speed Calling saves time and makes calling more convenient. You may store 8 numbers with speed call programming by selecting numbers 2 through 9.

To program Speed Calling:

  1. Dial 74#. You will hear a tone.
  2. Dial the control number (2 through 9), the telephone number you wish to program for Speed Calling, and immediately enter the # sign.
  3. After hearing a tone, hang up. Your speed call number is now in effect.

To use Speed Calling:

  1. Dial the control number (2 through 9 followed by the # sign) of the telephone number you are calling. The number is automatically dialed!
    “If you do not have a touch tone telephone, you will have a 4-second pause.

Three-Way Calling “Click It”

Allows you to set up a three-way conversation that includes your phone and two other numbers.

Press 74#

You can hold a three-way conversation ‘with friends, relatives, or business associates and save the expense of a conference call .

To add a third person, local or long-distance, to an existing conversation:

  1. Depress the switch hook for no more than one second. This places the original call on “hold.” Listen for a tone.
  2. Dial the telephone number qf the person you want to add to your conversation. When that person answers, you can talk privately before bringing the original call back into the conversation.
  3. To add the original call, depress the switchhook for no more than .one second. This returns the original call and establishes the three-way call!
    “If you try to add a third person and the telephone is busy or does not answer, cancel that call by depressing the switchhook twice. This will return you to the original call.To remove either call from the three-way conversation, ask one of them to hang up. You can continue the conversation with the remaining person. When you hang up, all calls are disconnected.
